Human interaction is at the core of a brand conversion experience

Gastón Ortiz Ramos, CEO at Book A Corner, shares his perspective on attending two important commercial real estate events in the UK: the Revo Conference and Exhibition 2021 and the CREtech London. Normally, these venues imply many expectations and opportunities, but this year these were highlighted by the general excitement about sharing in-person events again.

The pandemic has affected all our lives, but it also paved the way for meaningful transformations. The CRE market is no exception. The best way to adapt these changes to their final use is sharing insights from different players, meeting the people who will actually use the solutions and listening to other experiences. Live events are the perfect place to do this and, fortunately, they have come back to stay.

  • How did it feel attending these two important events for commercial real estate?

To be honest, the experience was amazing! After 2 years with no face-to-face events, it was great to meet exceptional people in person again. As you may already know, both events have a different focus.

In the case of Revo, it was very productive to get together with most of our potential clients in the UK, talk about their needs, the problems that they are facing, and how they plan to solve them in the near future.

Regarding the CREtech event, there were some very insightful talks and very interesting connections. It was great spending time with some amazing people discussing technology, digital and data, and the exciting roadmap ahead of us.

  • How will this experience contribute to BAC? And how will this affect daily work?

I think the most important contribution was a better understanding of the industry from different points of view. It’s really important to try to understand where the industry is going, to know where we are standing today. It helps us make better decisions. Every single decision you make, as small as it may seem, has a direct and relevant impact on the growth of the company.

  • Do you think these events help boost the market? How?

Definitely. Human interaction is at the core of a brand conversion experience. In a day and age when the digital world is at your fingertips, it’s easy to lose consumers in the chaos of mass communication and transactional advertising. Events serve as the purest form of authentic brand engagement and have the power to shift a consumer from a complainer to a passionate brand advocate.

  • What do industry leaders forecast for the future of commercial real estate?

I think it would be more appropriate for one of them to answer this question.

As we already know, the pandemic has affected all classes of commercial real estate; however, it has also generated innovative possibilities for the CRE market this year including affordable rental prices, efficient online communication, and sending in forms and payments with just a click.

Commercial real estate is gradually recovering from the pandemic’s impact this year. This recovery may have its difficulties and setbacks, just like in 2020. However, this can also mean that there are awaiting opportunities for business owners and investors, and it is up to them to make smart decisions and adapt their processes to the new customer behavior.
